Ahhh its that time of year, spring is in the air, thunderstorms are on the horizon and at dusk there will be men and women on bikes rounding the corners in Athens at ridiculous speeds while thousands of people are yelling and ringing bells!!!
I Love Athens Twilight. So you should go this Saturday the 24th. This is my favorite race to watch and to photograph. I have my niche areas too. Inside Turn 1 in front of Georgia Theater. It is really my favorite spot. I will be between there and the start finish all night long taking photos. Looking forward to seeing some exciting action. Especially from teams like Kenda Pro, Bahati (if they come) and Jamis. And of course hoping that the volcano wont cause any problems for guys like US Crit Champ John Murphy who hopefully will fly back to race Twilight. It would be great to get a shot of him in the Stars and Stripes coming around the bend or across the finish line. UPDATE: Just heard John will not be here this year. It will be an exciting race so come out! Laura and I plan on coming up early to ride the 100k gambler ride then come back for the main events. Shimano (our pug) should also be there that night, it will be his first Athens Twilight adventure since he is only 7 months old. Lots of fun!!!
