Jim Miller CX 2011

Laura & Shimano! Once again, it is Cyclocross time! Last year this Race was the first Cyclocross Event I had ever attended. I was hooked. I shot the race, met new racers, was able to walk the course and get some great shots. (see last years CX Race at Jim Miller Park) This year things were a bit different. Why, because I raced. My wife Laura, who also shoots for B.D.Andrews, and I both bought CX bikes about 2 weeks ago and Jim Miller was our Second Race. Laura is doing a bit better than I am. She has placed 3rd in both races for CX4 Womens B. I however have been racing in the CX4 Mens category along with roughly 67 other racers the past two weeks. Since both of us were racing, we brought a tent from FreeFlite, Shimano the Pug, and set up camp near the start of the race. We even had friends come out and support. Jessica Thompson graciously even took photos of me racing with my camera while Laura was warming up for her race. I really appreciated that. So it was another great day and CX race. Cyclocross is a great spectator sport, and if you have a chance to view a race you should!! The Georgia Cyclocross Series will continue December 4th. More races in the southeast can be found online at Southeastern Cycling. To view the rest of the images from Jim Miller CX Race 2011 click on the photo below or here.
